Petal & Hue

The trees were green with envy
As the flowers bloomed so bright
Their roots would taste like candy
To passersby delight

All the clouds would drift away
To reveal a naked sky beneath
For the flowers needed light
To be the brightest they could be

The greenest leaves you’d ever see
Would grow on trees up high
They would radiate great power
For the flowers found nearby

But if you were to ask them all
Why their colours shine so bright
They would say they could not tell a lie
It was love at first sight
